Addo Elephant National Park
The third largest National Park in South Africa, Addo Elephant National Park has expanded to conserve a wide diversity of biodiversity, landscapes, fauna and flora. Addo covers about 180 000 hectares (444 700 acres) and includes the Bird and St Croix Island groups. Today Addo Elephant National Park is sanctuary to over 550 elephants, lions, buffalo, black rhino, spotted hyena, leopard, a variety of antelope and zebra species, as well as the unique Addo flightless dung beetle, found almost exclusively in Addo.
Self Drive Addo Elephant National Park allows you to take a drive through their park. The roads are in a good condition and allow for any vehicle to travel through the park. The gates open 06:00 (summer) or 07:00 (winter) and close at 19:00.
Sunrise Drive Departing 06:00 (summer) or 07:00 (winter) – dress warmly and watch the bush come alive for the day. Lions may still be active from the night’s hunting, buffalo may be seen and kudu are plentiful.
Day Drives Departing 09:00, 12:00 and 15:00 – viewing may include herds of elephant, antelope, zebra , warthog and ostrich.
Sunset Drive Departing 16:00 (winter) or 18:00 (summer) – enjoy late afternoon viewing, snacks & drinks as the sun goes down and then some night time viewing – black rhino, buffalo, lions and antelope may be seen.
Night Drive Departing 18:00 (winter) or 20:00 (summer) – dress warmly and discover the secrets of nighttime in the bush: springhares, porcupines, genets
Sandboarding Sundays River
Boasting some of the biggest sand dunes in the Eastern Cape; Sandboarding Sundays River offers an adrenalin- filled adventure for all ages.
Your three hour journey begins with a scenic boat cruise (10 minutes) on the magnificent Sundays River, where breathtaking birds and (occasionally) wildlife, can be seen in their natural habitats; offering an unforgettable outdoor experience only 30 minutes away from the city of Port Elizabeth.
Sandboarding Sundays River utilises the latest sandboarding equipment; ensuring you’re equipped with the highest standard in gear and safety. Both the lie-down and stand-up snowboard type boards are available; giving you an opportunity to find your feet in a style that suits you best.

Maggie May River Cruise Boat
This majestic boat offers a cruise for 4 - 12 people up the Sunday's river at a leisurely pace to view all the local river birds and wildlife.
Cruise to the Sunday's River mouth and view the spectacular dune fields and river birds along the banks of the river. The cruise is two and a half hours long and is ideal for birdwatching and chilling to the max. With an upper and lower deck, you can experience the beautiful Sundays River and the surroundings from all levels. Passengers are welcome to bring snacks or drinks or catering can be arranged on request. There is a lavatory as well as an on-board kitchen and lounge.
Schotia Safaris is the oldest private game viewing reserve in the Eastern Cape, bordering the eastern side of Addo Elephant National Park.
This malaria free reserve is probably the most densely stocked reserve in Africa, and with over 40 mammal species and approximately 2000 animals, can offer consistently good game viewing throughout the year. Schotia was the first reserve in the Cape Province to have free roaming lions and we can almost guarantee sightings of these magnificent animals on every Tooth & Claw game drive.
Pearson Park Resort
